Gareth Owen
Co-founder & Director

Gareth is a highly adept and versatile technical practitioner.  His experience of interpreting the sub-surface is broad and his knowledge and ability to think both methodically and laterally is second to none.  In every organisation he has worked, he has found himself at the front; leading and mentoring the technical evolution of those around him at all levels.  A Chartered Geologist with a solid foundation in brownfield land regeneration, Gareth also has extensive experience of wider environmental consultancy, and excels in delivering technically complex and challenging projects.

Gareth is a passionate environmentalist and photographer of the natural world. He has spent time visiting far-flung corners of the world and some of his travel photography work has been recognised in national competitions.  Gareth is a self-confessed seeker of good food, and lover of the outdoors.  When not working, Gareth is often to be found on top of a mountain, in the sea, or seeking out purveyors of exceptional culinary produce.

Gareth’s technical specialisms include; brownfield regeneration; contaminated land investigation and assessment (including detailed quantitative risk assessment for both human health and controlled waters); Environmental Impact Assessment; geoconservation; hydrogeological risk assessment and earthworks design & implementation.
